The Bednars invite you to

Thanksgiving in October

Sunday, October 18, 2026 · Doors 4:00 · Dinner 5:00 sharp · Fairview, Texas

We love Thanksgiving too much to hold it once a year. Bring a homemade dish that serves 8–10, bring your people, and come eat with a couple hundred of our favorite friends.

What this is

For more than twenty years we've thrown Thanksgiving whenever we felt like it — February, April, September, and now October. Fifty-some parties in, it's become a thing: 100 to 200 people, a table that runs the length of the room, and not a single store-bought dish on it.

Thanksgiving, for us, is about sharing an abundance of real home-cooked food with great friends and letting our different circles collide over pie. Jeff will be roasting and smoking the turkeys (he's cooked hundreds). Everything else is on you.

This year we've moved off the farm and into our event space in Fairview, which means real bathrooms, real parking, and no chickens underfoot. The rules haven't changed.

Non-negotiable

The Thanksgiving Commandments

I

No store-bought food.

100% homemade. Can't cook? That's what the internet is for. A handful of exception spots exist for drinks or the cleanup crew — they go fast.

The only pardon: Stovetop & canned cranberry sauce.
II

Be on time.

Doors at 4:00, dinner at 5:00 sharp. It doesn't work when the mashed potatoes show up after we're eating dessert. Plan to arrive between 4:00 and 4:30.

III

Bring an abundance.

Make your dish for at least 8–10 people — more is better. Bring it in whatever container works; we supply plates, real silverware, cloth napkins and serving ware.

IV

RSVP with your dish.

We balance the menu as people sign up — at least 2–4 of every Thanksgiving food group. Categories close when they're full, and everyone in your party RSVPs so they know the rules too.

V

Share the abundance.

Bring non-perishable food for All Community Outreach, or a cash gift for United Rocks. Thanksgiving is a time to be generous.

VI

Leftovers stay here.

Our leftover crew repacks everything at the end and it feeds the volunteers and the week ahead. Leave your pets and your Tupperware at home.

What to bring

Traditional or not, we want your best. Highlighted ones are the categories we always run short on.

Share the abundance

Non-perishable food → ACO

Bring a bag of canned and boxed goods. Everything collected goes to All Community Outreach, feeding families here in Collin County.

Cash → United Rocks

Any money given at the door goes to United Rocks, a 501(c)(3) that teaches kids with special needs how to rock climb. In 2023 this room raised $850.
